Brock Lesnar Has A Major Plan For SummerSlam !!!!!!
WWE is going to be a very different product in just a few short weeks. The WWE Draft is on July 19 during the first live edition of SmackDown on the USA Network. Five days later, WWE will have Battleground, which will serve as the final night of the old era in WWE. After that, every WWE superstar will be a part of either Raw or SmackDown, and then WWE’s road to SummerSlam will begin.
As of this writing, we don’t know much about what WWE officials have planned for the event, but we do know that it will be Brock Lesnar’s first match after returning to The Octagon for UFC. On July 9, he’s going to be fighting Mark Hunt, and there is a lot on the line for Lesnar, WWE, and the wrestling industry in general.
Needless to say, his return match to WWE is going to need to be big. The match will be huge because of Lesnar’s involvement, but the right opponent for The Beast Incarnate is pivotal for his return to WWE programming. While there are many WWE Superstars lining up for the chance, there is a rumor that WWE officials have already made their choice for Brock Lesnar’s next opponent in the squared circle.
For whatever reason, WWE officials have changed their mind on that match, and they feel that Brock Lesnar vs. Kevin Owens is a better idea. It’s a match that has been rumored in the past, and it is a highly anticipated match-up the WWE Universe wants to see because Owens can have a similar dominance and he may not be someone that Lesnar can throw around like he has with most WWE superstars in the past.
Owens is bound for the final match of his feud with long-time rival Sami Zayn at Battleground. Win, lose, or draw, he is one of the best heels in WWE. Lesnar is going to need a top heel to feud with when he returns to WWE, and Paul Heyman vs. Owens on the microphone sounds like an excellent idea to the WWE Universe. In many ways, Kevin Owens is a perfect opponent for Brock Lesnar regardless of what happens at UFC 200 next weekend.
No matter what happens at UFC 200, Brock Lesnar is going to need a win at SummerSlam to maintain his aura with the WWE Universe. If he wins in The Octagon, it doesn’t make much sense for him to return to WWE and destroy his momentum. Is it believable for him to return to WWE only to lose? No offense to Owens or anyone else, but that seems very unlikely.
If Lesnar loses at UFC 200, does it make sense for WWE to force another loss on him and make him look far less dominant in the ring? The last thing WWE officials want to do is make Lesnar’s unbeatable aura go away, so a loss in UFC guarantees a win at SummerSlam.
No matter what, WWE officials are going to book Brock Lesnar to win at SummerSlam, which is going to be a hit to someone like Kevin Owens. However, he should be able to shake off the loss either way because Lesnar will need it more either way and there is no shame in losing to The Beast Incarnate, especially in a good match.
