Vince McMahon Will Announce SmackDown General Manager This Monday !!!!!!

WWE RAW is expected to get exciting this upcoming Monday Night. Clearly with this being the week before the WWE Draft is supposed to take place where WWE will “shake things up a bit,” Vince McMahon returning makes total sense at the end of the day. That looks to be exactly what is happening on WWE RAW this week with McMahon already scheduled to take part according to a press release by the WWE.
The WWE would say….
“After weeks of a huge power struggle for control of SmackDown Live, WWE’s Chairman returns to Monday Night RAW. Will Mr. McMahon weigh in on the recent battle between Stephanie and Shane McMahon? Or does he have a different COO in mind for the blue brand’s latest chapter?”
For those unaware WWE has decided against returning the “General Manager” title to the company and will go with the “Chief Operating Officer” or COO role. Triple H was known as the COO during his time as the boss of WWE. This was most likely done in response to this, which would allow for the new brand leaders to have the ultimate power over the shows and not have to answer to anyone but Vince McMahon himself.

It makes sense to do this, as the GM role just isn’t enough for what WWE plans to do. The rumor is that the brands will almost be like different companies, similar to how the whole thing was done years ago. However, there are major roles that have existed in the WWE since. Triple H being COO means that he could theoretically control any show he wanted, so WWE covered their bases and just added the COO tag.

WWE will most likely add more championships in the coming months as well. We know now that they will be bringing back the two World Titles. There is also a theory that they could debut new Women’s and Tag Team Titles for the brand that happens to not have one or the other. It looks like that this occurs now more than ever. WWE has plans to keep both divisions on both shows. With so many tag teams popping up, as well as talented women on the main roster and coming up….there really is a need for other titles.
This is on top of the fact that WWE plans to run two PPVs per month starting after WWE SummerSlam. With two brand shows per month, barring the months of the Big 4, it puts WWE in a rough position. They will need more titles if they plan to have a lot of brand specific shows. At least eight more PPV events will be coming each year, therefore titles mean everything.
Could WWE bring back titles outside of these like the old WWE European and Cruiserweight Titles? As of now, that looks to be unlikely as WWE would not really need them with the other titles that make sense to add.
The question on most minds may have to do with who Vince will pick to run WWE SmackDown. The company has had a good idea on who they wanted to go there for some time now, but fans have been hearing a back and forth on who it could be. Shane McMahon makes the most sense due to the fact that he should never be running WWE RAW to begin after he lost to The Undertaker at WrestleMania 32.
However, WWE wants to push Stephanie McMahon up in the company more. Adding her to the exciting Tuesday night blue brand would make even more sense, as they would put a lot of eyes on her instantly due to the new things we will see from it. Plus she is a former General Manager of the show and ran it during some of it’s highest rated times when the brand split came about. She and Triple H would also be able to run the show as they saw fit while Vince works with Shane on WWE RAW. This would allow Stephanie to show what she could do with the company if she did things her way.
Taking the SmackDown job on would be a proving ground for the obvious heir to the WWE throne. However, Vince likes to make people earn things and prove themselves. He is the same with his children. Stephanie has worked in some capacity with WWE all her life, but in the business end since the early 2000’s. She has spent fifteen years climbing her way up the corporate ladder. Whenever she does get the WWE throne, she would have seriously earned it with no one being able to dispute it. That said, it does look like that she and Triple H will run the show.
However, there are some who think Vince will choose someone random to run the show as somewhat of a shock factor like Eric Bischoff. Sadly, Eric has said he will not be taking on the role. WWE would need to bring someone like Daniel Bryan or Sting back to get that some sort of reaction instead. Both also look unlikely, but you never know with Vince McMahon and the WWE. Regardless, it looks like we’ll find out on Monday.
