WWE superstar John Cena recently took to social media and posted this rather cryptic tweet.

Gamble: take risky action in hope of a desired result. Time to gamble I think. It's gonna be a risky next two weeks #LaceUp #nevergiveup
Cena has been documenting his rehab process on social media by posting videos and photos, but the tweet in question has many wondering if the WWE superstar will come back earlier than expected in time for Wrestlemania.
Cena is currently out of action due to a shoulder injury he suffered. It was speculated the injury was worse than expected and that Cena would end up missing this year’s Wrestlemania.
This isn’t the first time Cena has returned to the ring from an injury earlier than expected. In 2008, Cena made a surprise return at that year’s Royal Rumble. Cena then went on to win the match by eliminating Triple H. Cena had suffered a torn pectoral injury during a match with Mr. Kennedy on RAW in October of 2007. Cena also returned from a neck injury that required surgery in 2008.
Cena’s injury was said to be so severe that the pectoral muscle had torn off of the bone. A few weeks later, Dr. James Andrews, who had performed surgery to repair Cena’s torn pectoral muscle, would later reveal that Cena was several weeks ahead of his rehab schedule.
Rumors speculated that Cena would face The Undertaker at this year’s Wrestlemania. Those plans were scrapped due to Cena’s unexpected injury. There were also rumors of Cena facing Roman Reigns for the WWE title in a “passing of the torch” type of match. However, with many superstars injured, including Seth Rollins and Cesaro, WWE is hurting to find suitable replacements in time for the big event in April.
The Undertaker hasn’t made appearance on WWE TV since last year’s Survivor Series. He also didn’t make one at the Royal Rumble, or on RAW the night after the Rumble. If Taker is going to be at this year’s Wrestlemania, chances are it won’t be until or after the next WWE PPV: Fastlane.
WWE recently had penciled in a Braun Strowman vs. The Undertaker match at Wrestlemania. However, those plans were scrapped when it was revealed that The Undertaker didn’t want to face Strowman; leaving WWE officials in a bit of a pickle. It’s speculated that Strowman will now be the frontrunner to win the annual WWE Andre the Giant Battle Royale in order to build up a massive push that WWE has planned for him.
Recently, Undertaker’s wife; former WWE Diva Michelle McCool posted a photo of Taker working out on her Instagram account; looking in incredible shape.

Bleacher Report recently weighed in on Cena returning early.
Cena has settled into an effective niche as an upper-midcard gatekeeper. With so many injuries currently affecting the WWE roster, Cena’s return will be an unquestionable boost—one that could solve the current quandary of who should face The Undertaker.
Their’s no denying that Cena is a well-built machine when it comes to recovering from injuries. However, it remains to be seen if Cena will recover in time for this years Wrestlemania and make the dream match at the “granddaddy of them all” in Undertaker’s home state a possibility.
