Dean Ambrose Has Big Surprise At Fast Lane

WWE Superstar Dean Ambrose has gotten more and more popular over the last number of months. He was always liked by the fans, and when The Shield ended, he clearly stood out as a top babyface. WWE used him to help elevate others like Bray Wyatt and Seth Rollins, but fans continued to love him despite this. In fact, the losses Dean suffered only made the crowds louder in his favor.
Now, it seems Ambrose cannot go anywhere in the world without getting one of the loudest pops of the night. WWE is a little over a month away from WrestleMania 32, which is supposed to be the biggest WrestleMania of all time. Of course, they say this every year. The problem is that WWE is still pushing for Roman Reigns to go to the biggest event of the year and leave as the WWE World Heavyweight Champion. The fans do not seem to want this, and it seems like WWE understands that up to a point.
The last few weeks, WWE has made Dean Ambrose out to be some sort of unstoppable and resilient assassin. He will not bow down to Brock Lesnar and he would turn on his brother in arms in Roman Reigns. All of this he would do if it meant he could main event WrestleMania. Whether or not WWE intended to, they made fans simply want to see Ambrose win more and more.
Despite this, the betting odds are not in Ambrose’s favor. According to 5dimes.com, Roman Reigns is a -600 favorite for the WWE Fast Lane match while Brock Lesnar +640 favorite. Dean Ambrose however, is a +800 favorite, being the least likely to win. The winner is the official number one Contender for the WWE World Heavyweight Title, so a win on Sunday is a huge deal. There cannot be a tie, nor would it make sense.
WWE NXT has had the tie issue for the last month regarding the #1 contendership with Sami Zayn and Samoa Joe. It would not make sense for the main roster to follow with the same story involving Roman Reigns and Dean Ambrose. Brock Lesnar is out of the picture for the most part, as he is set to face Bray Wyatt at WrestleManiaThe Wrestling Observer claims that The Wyatt Family very well could be seen attacking Lesnar at Fast Lane, but is not certain if they will cost him the match.
That being said, the Wyatts very well could be the people who take Lesnar out of the match. It would be weird if they didn’t get involved toward the end, which would allow Reigns or Ambrose to win. Bray Wyatt could also be part of the ending as well, as his rivalry with Roman Reigns could flow into the main event too. That means he very well could hand the match to Dean Ambrose.
Fans still see Ambrose as the favorite, and so do many experts, because WWE now has the time to avoid an issue that they couldn’t the last few years. Daniel Bryan had to be forced into the main event at WrestleMania 30 and WWE had to end the WrestleMania 31 main event with Seth Rollins cashing in his Money in the Bank contract. On top of this, the set up for Ambrose the last few weeks have led to a main event run for him.
WWE now can add Dean Ambrose into the main event for fans, and have a person like Roman Reigns face off with The Undertaker or someone else that would make sense. Neither Ambrose nor Reigns really have a match outside of the main event that makes sense for them honestly, but many believe Reigns can be thrown into just about anything and fit in well. WWE took the Intercontinental Championship off of Ambrose this past week, meaning an IC Title match with him is out of the question at WrestleMania. There is no need to rehash the Kevin Owens rivalry.
On top of this, there is no reason to take the title off of Ambrose unless a bigger plan was out there for him. The IC Title has been a title that has led to the World Title in the past interestingly.
All signs point to Dean Ambrose winning, which would give him the major upset. However, WWE’s obsession with pushing Roman Reigns despite what fans may say is a problem that has to be addressed. It was thought that just hardcore, internet fans wanted more for Ambrose. Now the casual fans do too. At the end of the day, WWE has to cater to both, so adding him into the main event not only makes sense. It truly is the best option. Either that, or the night ends with a sea of boos and WWE does not want that. This will happen even if The Rock helps his cousin, just look at The Royal Rumble last year for reference.
