After Raw Went Off The Air, A Huge Wrestlemania Match Was Teased

There are rumors that WWE has completely scrapped all plans for WrestleMania 32, and don’t have anything in place. Well, they may by now, but as of earlier in December, it was a clean slate. With 2015 coming to a close, WWE is apparently setting the tone for what is to come and they teased it to the crowd tonight after Monday Night Raw went off the air. It does look like a Roman Reigns vs. John Cena feud is on the way.
The end of the night saw John Cena defeat United States Champion Alberto Del Rio by disqualification, according to the recap from WWE.com. The League of Nations came out to interfere and start beating down Cena. That ended up bringing Roman Reigns to the ring to help clean things up.
After that, Vince McMahon came out to the ring to make a huge announcement for the first Monday Night Raw of 2016. Roman Reigns will defend his WWE World Heavyweight Title against Sheamus with Mr. McMahon as the special guest referee.
That is some big news, yes, but it was what happened when Raw went off the air that caught the attention of many. That is when WWE teased something to the live crowd that has been a rumored match for WrestleMania 32, according to WrestleZone.
WWE didn’t say anything about what may come from the face-off between John Cena and Roman Reigns in the middle of the ring after Raw. It was likely a setup to gauge the reaction of the crowd if they saw the two stars facing off. Would it be something that everyone wants?
Once the ring was cleared of the League of Nations, Reigns threw his weapons outside and the heels retreated up the ramp. Reigns then slowly walked up on Cena almost in a heel way of doing things and that was when the two went face-to-face.
WWE Blogger Diva even posted a short 30-second video of the face-off between the two superstars on Twitter, and it honestly does seem like Reigns was more of the heelish aggressor.
t’s interesting to think where WWE may go with this little teaser test. Royal Rumble is coming up in about a month and Reigns still doesn’t have a match scheduled to defend his world title. Actually, there are no matches announced yet for the big Pay-Per-View.
Should WWE not pull the trigger on it for the PPV, then it could have a bearing on how John Cena does in the Rumble match. Well, that is, if he even enters the match; but, it’s expected he will and probably have a strong showing.
The winner of that match will go on to main event WrestleMania 32 against the WWE World Heavyweight Champion at that time. Rumors have swirled that Reigns is going to hold on to the title until at least early April.
A lot is in the works to be sorted out by the time next week’s Monday Night Raw takes place and is completed. The outcome of the match between Reigns and Sheamus, combined with whatever happens with Vince McMahon, will reveal to fans more of the direction WWE is going for in the Royal Rumble.
John Cena has just returned after a two-month absence from WWE, and he’s already been thrust right back into the main event scene as expected. With the after Raw face-off with Roman Reigns, there are a number of directions that WWE can go en route to WrestleMania 32. Maybe WWE will finally go forward with that John Cena heel turn, but probably not.
