Paul Heyman Gives The Final Decision For Lesnar VS Austin Match

The WWE Universe got off their seat when Paul Heyman and Stone Cold Steve Austin talked about a potential WrestleMania 32 match with Brock Lesnar. While it’s apparent that the WWE wants it to happen, there are a lot of variables before it is even considered. The two behemoths in the ring would easily sell out AT&T Stadium in Texas. WWE wants a sell out too.
During the Stone Cold Podcast on the WWE Network, there was no talk about a match between Austin and Lesnar, until the end. Paul Heyman wanted to ask Stone Cold a question before the podcast finished up. He asked the Texas Rattlesnake about a match with Brock Lesnar at WrestleMania 32.
For those that watched the Stone Cold Podcast, Austin went into full-promo mode at the end and teased a Texas Deathmatch with Brock Lesnar and his manager, Heyman. Immediately after the podcast, Vince McMahon was said to have told Austin that he wants the idea of Austin and Lesnar at WrestleMania to go away immediately.
It wasn’t only Vince McMahon that was blindsided by it, but so was Steve Austin. According to WrestlingNewsSource, Austin didn’t see the question coming from Paul Heyman.
Heyman stated that without bringing that question up, he wouldn’t have been able to sit through an hour-long podcast with Austin. He later stated that there was zero chance of Austin vs. Lesnar taking place at WrestleMania 32, and also said that Austin had a myriad of his own reasons as to why the match wouldn’t take place.
The fact that Stone Cold was blindsided by the question from Heyman tells the WWE fans that a match with Brock Lesnar surely will not happen. Unless Austin has something up his sleeve, Brock Lesnar will face another rumored opponent, like the Rock. As far as Austin goes, he’ll enjoy WrestleMania 32 from the backstage area.
When talking about the “heat” between Austin and McMahon, that’s probably a false statement. If there were supposed bad blood between the two, Stone Cold wouldn’t have done his podcast with Paul Heyman. Austin wouldn’t have the relationship he would with the WWE if there was a problem. Mostly everything that’s being said about Austin and the WWE should be considered a rumor at this time.
Does the WWE want Steve Austin vs. Brock Lesnar? Presumably they do. Will it ever happen? That’s the golden question right now for WWE fans. Austin has to want it and it has to make sense. Among the myriad of other options, those are the two biggest variables right now.
