Huge Name Set To Became #1 Contender !!!!!!!!

Samoa Joe and Roman Reigns have the momentum heading into the Fatal 5-Way Match this Sunday at Extreme Rules to determine the No. 1 contender for the WWE Universal Championship. Joe and Reigns won their respective matches on Monday Night Raw to gain a much-needed boost. However, the latest WWE odds have Samoa Joe coming out on top and earning a shot at Brock Lesnar’s title at Great Balls of Fire next month.
The WWE superstars participating in the Fatal 5-Way Match at Extreme Rules are Roman Reigns, Seth Rollins, Finn Balor, Bray Wyatt and Samoa Joe. As recapped by WWE.com, all the competitors were involved in two matcheson Monday Night Raw to increase interest for Extreme Rules.
Samoa Joe faced off against Finn Balor and Bray Wyatt in a Triple Threat Match. Joe stole the win after Balor hit the Coup De Grace on Wyatt. The Samoan Submission Machine has been on a tear since making his debut on the main roster a day after the Royal Rumble last January. Joe already has wins over top stars like Sami Zayn, Seth Rollins, and Roman Reigns.
On the other hand, Reigns and Rollins put on a fantastic match in the main event of Monday Night Raw. It was a back-and-forth battle between two former members of The Shield that got everyone in the arena excited. Reigns got the win after hitting Rollins with the Spear but it seems like he’s not going to come out as the top contender for the WWE Universal Championship on Sunday at Extreme Rules.
According to BetWrestling.com (h/t Wrestle Zone), Samoa Joe is heavily favored to win the Fatal 5-Way Match at Extreme Rules and face Brock Lesnar for the WWE Universal Championship at Great Balls of Fire on July 9. Joe is a 4/7 favorite to win while Balor comes in second at 9/2 odds, followed by Rollins at 5/1, Wyatt at 7/1 and Reigns at 10/1.
Although odds are not always right in terms of the results of WWE matches, it should be noted that Jinder Mahal was favored to win the WWE Championship at Backlash. Mahal did win and become WWE Champion despite his history of bad losing and terrible booking. The same can happen to Samoa Joe, and he has been booked much better than Mahal.
If Samoa Joe really beats Roman Reigns, Seth Rollins, Finn Balor and Bray Wyatt at Extreme Rules, many fans are going to be happy with his matchup with Brock Lesnar. Joe vs. Lesnar has been on the wishlist of the WWE Universe, and it’s a fresh matchup that could help the plummeting ratings of Monday Night Raw.
One of the fans of Samoa Joe vs. Brock Lesnar is Jim Cornette, who revealed it in an episode of Table For 3 on the WWE Network, as reported by Wrestling Inc. Cornette wants to see Joe and Lesnar go one-on-one in a Submission Match, not at Extreme Rules but at WrestleMania 34.
“That’s what I want to see, the two baddest dudes in the locker room and one of them has to tap out. I’d like to see what would happen.”
The WWE also recently teased Finn Balor vs. Brock Lesnar after a promo by Paul Heyman a couple of weeks ago. The match can still happen but the WWE might be saving it for a later date since the company wants a lot of challengers for Lesnar leading to WrestleMania 34 next year. Rumors have been swirling around that Lesnar vs. Reigns is the current plan for the main event of WrestleMania 34.
However, it should be noted that these are still rumors and speculations at the moment. Take it with a grain of salt since the WWE tends to change their plans on a consistent basis. Extreme Rules is on Sunday, June 4, at the Royal Farms Arena in Baltimore, Maryland. It is a Monday Night Raw-exclusive pay-per-view and the ninth WWE event under the Extreme Rules name.
