WWE May Cancel The Idea Of Womens Money In The Bank Match !!!!!
The WWE has boasted about the women’s evolution in the past year, but there is certainly room for improvement. A great step in the right direction is the rumored first ever Women’s Money in the Bank Ladder Match for the SmackDown women’s division. However, the latest WWE rumors have revealed that the plans for the match could get scrapped.
James McKenna of Pro Wrestling Sheet first reported the plans for a Women’s Money in the Bank Ladder Match in the pay-per-view of the same name on June 18 at the Scottrade Center in St. Louis, Missouri. McKenna noted that WWE officials have yet to decide who the participants will be or if the match will come to fruition.
The Money in the Bank Ladder Match is one of the most anticipated matches every year. Multiple WWE superstars compete to determine the winner of the Money in the Bank briefcase that contains a contract. The contract allows the holder to cash in on the WWE or World Champion anytime, anywhere, and the briefcase is valid for one year.
The WWE was reportedly planning to make history last year by doing the first ever Women’s Money in the Bank Ladder Match. However, the plans were scrapped, and the company decided to go in a different direction. The company went with a match between the team of then-Women’s Champion Charlotte and Dana Brooke against Becky Lynch and Natalya for WWE Money in the Bank 2016.
The women’s evolution happened naturally later in 2016 when Charlotte and Sasha Banks made history. The rivals became the first women to main event a main roster pay-per-view by headlining WWE Hell in a Cell 2016 in the first ever Women’s Hell in a Cell Match. And a month later, Charlotte and Sasha battled in a Falls Count Anywhere Match for the Women’s Championship.
Introducing the first ever Women’s Money in the Bank Ladder Match is going to be big for the WWE and the women’s evolution. However, it seems as if the plans for the historic Ladder Match are getting scrapped. According to the latest WWE rumors gathered by Cageside Seats, officials are still not 100 percent sure about doing the match, and it is not yet set in stone.
But just in case the WWE decided to make history again, the expected participants of the first ever Women’s Money in the Bank Ladder Match are Charlotte, Becky Lynch, Natalya, Tamina, and Carmella. Lana could also be inserted into the match, but she’s still undergoing training at the WWE Performance Center, and it’s risky to have her compete in a very dangerous match.
As for the potential winner of the first ever Women’s Money in the Bank Ladder Match, Carmella seems to be the favorite to get the big push. Sportskeeda reported that WWE officials are high on Carmella, and they are planning to give her a program for the SmackDown Women’s Championship currently held by Naomi.
Carmella is still not a polished wrestler, but she has certainly improved after a year in the main roster. Her character is a natural heel and associating with the annoying James Ellsworth will only give her a lot of heat from the crowd. Nevertheless, it’s always good for the WWE to come up with something fresh and shock the fans.
The WWE recently did it by giving former jobber Jinder Mahal the WWE championship. The company could do it all over again by having the first ever Women’s Money in the Bank Ladder Match at WWE Money in the Bank 2017on June 18. However, it should be noted that these are still WWE rumors, and nothing has been confirmed. The WWE tends to change their plans on a regular basis, and the match might or might not happen.
