What Will Happen On Raw Tonight !!!!
With the WWE Draft set for Tuesday’s WWE SmackDown Live, this week’s Monday Night RAW is the final episode before the new era of WWE talent is assigned to either the RAW brand or the SmackDown brand. While the card is already set for WWE Battleground 2016, many of the WWE Superstars booked for Sunday’s event may be preoccupied with the possibility of being professionally separated from their friends and allies in the WWE Draft. Meanwhile, Shane McMahon will name a General Manager for SmackDown Live, and Stephanie McMahon will name the GM for RAW.
Monday Night RAW will also mark the first original WWE programming since news broke about Brock Lesnar and the possibility that he may have been doping prior to his match against Mark Hunt at UFC 200. Will the WWE mention the news at all? Will they acknowledge the scandal on Monday Night RAW, and act as though the news will have an impact on Brock Lesnar’s draft value? Will WWE let on that Brock Lesnar vs. Randy Orton at SummerSlam 2016 could be in jeopardy?
Potentially as important as Brock Lesnar’s future with WWE and the upcoming WWE Draft on SmackDown Live, WWE World Heavyweight Champion Dean Ambrose defends his belt against former two-time champion Seth Rollins. Regardless of the outcome, both men will compete in a Triple Threat Match at Battleground with the third member of The Shield, Roman Reigns.
Absent from last week’s WWE SmackDown, will John Cena return to Monday Night RAW the day before the WWE Draft? Neither Cena, The Club, or Enzo and Big Cass were mentioned in WWE’s official RAW preview. With a 6-Man Tag Team Match set for Battleground, will John Cena be there to back up Enzo Amore and Colin Cassady against The Bullet Club?
Below is a deeper look at WWE.com’s official Monday Night RAW preview for July 18. Each week, the site provides the WWE Universe with some borderline spoilers in regards to the assumed events that will take place on the WWE’s flagship program, which airs live on the USA Network.
WWE Monday Night RAW Preview
En route to SmackDown Live in Worcester, Massachusetts, Monday Night RAW airs live from the Dunkin Donuts Center in Providence, Rhode Island. This is the final night of WWE television before the WWE Draft and the brand-split on July 19.
Will a new WWE Champion be crowned on RAW?
The idea of Dean Ambrose dropping the title to Seth Rollins less than a week before WWE Battleground and the day before the WWE Draft seems highly unlikely. That is, of course, unless it plays into some plans laid specifically for Battleground or the draft. Will the Lunatic Fringe lose the WWE World Heavyweight Championship before Roman Reigns returns from his suspension for violating the WWE’s Wellness Policy?
Regardless of whether or not Rollins manages to take the title from his former Shield brother on Monday Night RAW, Reigns will be added to the mix in the Triple Threat Match for the strap at Battleground. With the results of the WWE Draft on Tuesday, this could be the last time for a while that all three members of The Shield will be competing in the same ring.
Who will be the General Managers of RAW and SmackDown Live?
When Vince McMahon made his return to Monday Night RAW last week, he named Shane McMahon the Commissioner of SmackDown Live, while Stephanie McMahon was named the Commissioner of RAW. Their first task was to pick a General Manager and announce their choices on this week’s RAW. Shane McMahon already confirmed via Twitter that he had made his selection for the SmackDown Live GM. Stephanie has failed to issue such a statement.
Many members of the WWE Universe have been hoping for Kurt Angle to make a return to the WWE. A former SmackDown general manager himself, could Monday Night RAW mark the return of the Olympic Gold Medalist to the WWE?
Who Will Help Sasha Banks Against Charlotte & Dana Brooke At WWE Battleground?
It’s long been assumed that Bayley would be the next woman called up from the NXT roster to compete on RAW or SmackDown. Since her return to in-ring competition, Sasha Banks hasn’t been especially friendly with any of the other competitors in the WWE Women’s Division. It would seem that Battleground is the likely in-ring debut for Bayley on the WWE’s main roster.
If Charlotte and Sasha are drafted to different brands during SmackDown Live, this feud could be the last chance Banks has at capturing the WWE Women’s Championship. With a non-title tag team match set for Battleground, an assist from Bayley could lead to Sasha Banks being the new champ at WWE SummerSlam 2016.
Wyatts To New Day: Come Out, Come Out Wherever You Are
As if trying to outshine TNA and the Hardys, The New Day visited The Wyatt Family at their swamp-compound for a slasher-film style video taped without an audience. The Wyatt Family left with the upper hand, but will that momentum carry through RAW and SmackDown and to Battleground for the 6-Man Tag Team Match?
With the WWE Draft on Tuesday, both The New Day and The Wyatt Family are at risk of being split up and assigned to different brands. Could RAW be the final show before Bray Wyatt is separated from his followers yet again? Could Big E, Kofi Kingston or Xavier Woods be forced to go at it on their own after their match against the Wyatt Family at Battleground?
Will The Bulgarian Brute Crush A Broski?
Zack Ryder has seen a true revival in his career over the past few months. He won the WWE Intercontinental Championship at WrestleMania 32, and scored the final pinfall that won Team USA the 16-Man Elimination Tag Team Match in the main event of the 4th of July Monday Night RAW.
With his fiancé, Lana, at his side, the WWE United States Champion Rusev is as confident and dominant as ever. Since taking the title from Kalisto, he’s done nothing but drag the name of the US title through the mud. Will Zack Ryder be the man to put an end to the Bulgarian’s reign as the United States Champion? Or will the Long Island Iced-Z be just the next on the list of victims to be crushed by Rusev?
