Former Champions Asks WWE To Face The Undertaker At Wrestlemania 32
he wrestling fans of the world are waiting for The Undertaker to return to WWE television so he can begin his feud for WrestleMania 32. The only thing is that no one is quite sure who he will be facing at the big pay-per-view in April. Rumors have been strong in saying that he would face off with Braun Strowman, but that was never confirmed. Now, it’s being reported that Kevin Owens has actually asked WWE to let him face “The Deadman.”
According to PW Mania, Kevin Owens has actually gone to WWE and pitched the idea of him facing off with The Undertaker. The former Intercontinental Champion wants to take on The Undertaker in Dallas at WrestleMania 32, but will WWE let him?
As of now, it appears as if WWE is not willing to go along with Owens’ idea, and they’ve actually turned down his request.
Now, it looks like The Undertaker is going to be returning to WWE television on the Monday night after the Fastlane pay-per-view. It’s on that show that his feud for WrestleMania 32 will likely begin, and the build-up will be given a little over a month to develop.
Kevin Owens is currently involved in a weird little mini-feud with Dolph Ziggler in which he’s lost two televised matches in a row to “The Showoff.” It’s not totally clear if these two are going to continue battling each other, or if they will have a match at Fastlane or what.
For now, they both are just kind of there.
As for The Undertaker, it’s not entirely known who he will be facing off with at WrestleMania 32 even though the strongest rumor going around was for him to battle Braun Strowman. Vince McMahon apparently loves the bug guy from the Wyatts, but the fans gave forth so much negative backlash toward the match that WWE has apparently called it off.
If it’s not going to be Strowman, who can face off with “The Deadman”?
Brock Lesnar is likely going to face Bray Wyatt, so they’re both out. Roman Reigns will likely go on to face Triple H for the WWE Title so they are both out. Sting isn’t likely going to be able to wrestle still, and he’s being inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame.
John Cena is out with injury as is Randy Orton, Seth Rollins, and Cesaro. Daniel Bryan has officially retired, so he can’t be put in a dream match with The Undertaker.
It’s hard to really know who could possibly match up with The Undertaker and hold their own with him on as big a stage as WrestleMania 32.
Now, if WWE wanted to call up current NXT Champion Finn Balor to the main roster before WrestleMania 32, then that would easily work. The only problem is that would seem rather rushed for a debut to the main roster that really needs to be met with a big deal and done right. It doesn’t help that Balor just injured his ankle this past weekend and the severity of that isn’t known yet either.
What Culture has confirmed that the backlash for the idea of Undertaker vs. Braun Strowman has nixed that idea, but now what?
Kevin Owens is kind of in WWE limbo right now and without much direction or a real program. He’s great in the ring and a brutal brawler who could easily go 10 to 15 minutes with The Undertaker on a grand stage and give an amazing match.
Even if he were to lose, Kevin Owens would benefit greatly just from being in the match with The Undertaker at WrestleMania 32. For now, it appears as if Kevin Owens’ request to get that match in early April has been turned down, but WWE should really reconsider because it would work in so many ways.
