Brock Lesnar New Opponnent For Wrestlemania
Almost every single wrestling fan out there thought that Fastlane was going to have The Wyatt Family interfering in the main event and taking out Brock Lesnar. This would lead to Bray Wyatt vs. Brock Lesnar at WrestleMania 32, and the build-up would begin. Well, that didn’t happen, and now people are left wondering who the Beast Incarnate will face at the big pay-per-view. It appears as if his opponent is now known, and it’s none other than Dean Ambrose.
It was pretty much a given that the conclusion of the main event would have Roman Reigns winning and going on to face Triple H for the WWE World Heavyweight Title. That happened as expected, but nothing else really did.
The world was waiting for Bray Wyatt and the rest of The Wyatt Family to come down during that match and take out Brock Lesnar. Not only would this take him out of the outcome of the match, but it would also set up a new feud.
That didn’t happen.
Now, it appears as if WWE is going in a different direction now. Dave Meltzer spoke about it after Fastlane on Wrestling Observer Radio. He said there is no true reason as to why WWE pulled the plug on the Wyatt/Lesnar feud, but it simply isn’t happening. A new plan is now in place.
“There’s no Brock Lesnar Bray Wyatt match now. The decision was made to go with Dean Ambrose versus Brock Lesnar at WrestleMania.”
Fans are going to be much happier with this, but it still leads one to try and understand if it is a feasible and logical match.
Brock Lesnar pretty much dominated both Reigns and Ambrose in the triple-threat match. He was only taken out of things by a barrage of chair shots from Ambrose and then a very quick spear and pin by Reigns to determine a reasonable outcome as recapped by WWE.com.
How can Dean Ambrose stand on his own against someone with the size and strength of Lesnar?
Perhaps there will be a stipulation of “no disqualification” or an “extreme rules” match of some sort for their match at WrestleMania 32. You have to admit that the past month building up to Fastlane was quite enjoyable, with Paul Heyman going back-and-forth with Ambrose while the “Lunatic Fringe” would never quit no matter how badly Lesnar beat him.
The one thing that is hard to understand is the outcome of a WrestleMania 32 match between Ambrose and Lesnar. The obvious next step for the winner would be to go on and face the WWE Champion, who is expected to be Roman Reigns.
Ambrose winning could instantly elevate him to main event status in a more solidified manner and get him the title in a couple of months. Lesnar would probably be the bigger money win, though, and he could go for a feud with Reigns and make the fans happy, but just not for the main event of WrestleMania.
One has to wonder though if Lesnar is taking time off after the early April event and disappearing for a month or two. When he comes back, is there still going to be the rumored feud and match with Braun Strowman at SummerSlam even though the Bray Wyatt feud was scrapped?
It’s hard to tell what WWE is doing right now, but one thing appears very certain: Bray Wyatt won’t be facing off with Brock Lesnar. A new feud is in place, and the seeds were planted for it right after the Royal Rumble, so it’s only going to get bigger.
Dean Ambrose is in for the fight of his life against Brock Lesnar at WrestleMania 32, but it’s going to be a great build-up, an awesome feud, and could be a show-stealer on the card. Maybe this is WWE’s way of forcing Roman Reigns upon the fans and into the main event against Triple H. It won’t necessarily work, but it’s a start.
