Backstage Update On Dolph Ziggler Injury
Dolph Ziggler’s feud with Rusev may be the last one in his WWE career. Hopefully, it doesn’t come to that, but rumors are running rampant on his status with the company. After an interview was conducted with Chad Dukes, Washington D.C. radio personality, Ziggler’s contract talks were cleared up.
“I’m thinking about it right now. I had a request for an upcoming contract that would end a few months from now, maybe two or three months from now, and they requested back what they would like, I countered another offer and we’re waiting to finalize some things. I love WWE and I can’t picture myself wrestling somewhere else but it’s also becoming now where that Wednesday and Thursday, I can’t just do that and get some outside live events for comedy and different movie and television options, which would only be to promote myself as a WWE superstar, to make myself a bigger star so I can advance more in WWE. So if I can’t find that happy medium, I might have to go away for a little bit. What I wanna do is make myself a bigger asset to WWE. If it involves leaving, that would crush me but it might.”
That came right out of Dolph Ziggler’s mouth, so he’s the best source on the story. Putting him into a deep storyline with Rusev wouldn’t make sense if he’s leaving soon. That would obviously be a waste of Rusev’s time, as well as the fan’s favorite diva’s time, Lana. She and Ziggler both are over with the WWE Universe. If Ziggler gets the push he deserves, they’ll be the new power couple of WWE.
To update everyone on their feud, Rusev revealed last night that he isn’t injured anymore. In fact, he superkicked Ziggler with the boot still on. He then took off the walking boot and started to land crutch shots on Ziggler’s back. Rusev then went into major-heel mode and used the crutch and jammed his neck with it, causing Ziggler to leave the arena in a stretcher and ambulance.
There were WWE fans who thought his injury was legitimate, but a backstage report by Cageside Seats are saying that Ziggler’s injury is strictly for the storyline only.
The former-Intercontinental champion isn’t legitimately injured. Rusev did jam his throat with the crutch in an aggressive manner. Will this lead to a match at WWE Battleground? That seems logical, but if he loses there, the Show-off might be showing off somewhere else soon.
